Two black 3D printed CNC vacuum pods with gasket grooves and push-to-connect air fittings on a steel fixture table

3D Printed CNC Vacuum Pods

Small, thin parts are some of the hardest to hold on a CNC. Clamps get in the way of the tool and screws leave holes. These 3D printed PETG vacuum pods hold small, thin parts flat on both the CNC router and the mill.

How they work

The top of each pod has a gasket groove around the edge and a pattern of channels that spreads the vacuum across the part. A push-to-connect fitting on the side takes the vacuum line. Set the part on the pod, pull vacuum, and it stays put while it is cut.

Printed in the shop

There are two shapes so far, one square and one round. Because they are printed in house, a pod for an odd shaped part is just another print.
